Re-registering was not a very good idea. Registration is and has been permanent for quite a few years. By re-registering you have opened a window of 30 days where any telemarketer can call and you cannot make any DNC violation reports. If you are ever in doubt about the status of you number, there is a verify link on the DNC webpage.
If you are a business...there is no DNC. They are required to put you on their internal DNC...and you can sue after that. Outfits like this aren't based in the U.S. so there is nothing you can do legally.
They want you to pay their small fee so they can steal your identification.
There is really nothing you can do about these kind of calls.
I like to take a smoke break when I get these calls and waste as much time as possible by asking them dumb questions. Never EVER say "yes". I have found that taking up 15 minutes of their time will get me on their DNC, especially when at the end of my smoke break I tell them I was intentionally wasting their time....otherwise they will just call back.
This number called my office yesterday and again this morning (just a few minutes ago). He/she/it/they did not leave a message. Any company with legitimate business dealings would leave a message. The call is obviously not a real business call. Just someone (or a company) looking for personal information about the people they are calling.
