They called 1:00 pm today, and told me that he was from Windows and that I had a problem with my computer. I asked him where he was calling from and he told me England. He started to tell me again that he was from Windows and that they had found a problem that would cause my computer to have fatal errors if I didn't fix it. I told him that I didn't believe him, he called me a Bloody MF'er and hung up.
THIS IS A SCAM THAT ALLOWS HACKERS ACCESS TO YOUR COMPUTER. MOST OF THE CALLS ARE ORIGINATING OVERSEAS (SOME FROM INDIA AND INDONESIA). BY NO MEANS PROVIDE ANY INFORMATION TO THOSE FOLKS. SIMPLY HANG-UP OR DO LIKE I DID AND RELAY TO THEM THAT YOU DO NOT HAVE A PC.
Yep been getting this number caller with an open line, then a buzz and disconnect. The last time, I screamed "if this is going to be a recording, please hang up". Well, then a voice said "f-u" (didn't think the full word would be allowed - but am sure folks reading this will know what the caller said). Haven't had the pleasure of hearing Indian accents as some of the posters have.
They called but I didn't answer. We have and have had the ENTIRE 458 area code blocked for 2 years.
Purchase a call blocking phone or device - we have both!
Sounds like the old "your Windows computer got a virus." Haw!
Got one at 3:30 PM pST. Hung up in mid sentence, or course he called again and I just put telephone down on my scanner and waited to see how long before he hung up. About 3 minutes.
