I got a text asking if I do massage work (I don't I do coaching). He said his name was "savage". I didn't bother responding because 1) his name was savage 2) the grammar was way off and I thought it could be a scam.
I run a photography business and they are wanting me to download a credit card service for small businesses and won't give me an email address to send an invoice to. Really sketchy. They texted me saying they are in ICU for an ear surgery
Texted from this number and stated he wanted availability to photograph a family reunion next weekend. When questioned about the location, he said that it would probably be within 1-2 hours travel distance and that he would pay all travel fees. However, when questioned about the location some more, he stated that the "event planner" was working on a location for the family reunion. Hmm... a family reunion in one week, but doesn't have a location secured yet. And if you have an event planner, wouldn't they handle the photographer? However, wants to put 60% down on credit card. When asked to communicate on the phone, said he could only "text" because he is hearing impaired. SCAM!!!!
I am a photographer in Missouri.I received a text from this number. It seemed very odd to me from the very beginning- especially considering the number is an Oregon number. I also thought it was weird to text me instead of calling me for an event like this. The person said their name was Poe, that they found me on the internet and need a photographer for a family reunion. I asked when the date is, because he said he had an event planner- if this is the case, it would lead you to believe that he already has a date set. He then responded back saying He wanted me to let him know my available dates... Since when would you plan your family reunion around a photographer? And wouldn't the event planner handle the hiring of a photographer? He told me that the event was within one - two hours from my location- not sure how he knows this considering he doesn't yet have a venue. He also told me he would be covering travel expenses and 60% down payment for the total cost. This conversation was getting sketchier by the minute. Then he was saying he wanted to purchase six 16x20 prints and also wanted unlimited candid shots from the event with rights to print anytime. Don't respond to this if you get a text from this number. It's too odd.
I am a photographer in Florida and got the same exact situation from "Poe" as Morgan from Missouri. This is somehow a scam. Not sure how sending me money on their credit card can rip me off but I'm sure this is not legit. Thanks for posting :)
