Love this site - I have an iPhone, and if you jailbreak it (Google if you don't know what that means - you need to do it!), there's a program in Cydia called iBlacklist, which lets you BLOCK callers (you can choose what happens when a certain number calls, such as: Voicemail, Busy Signal, Accept and Hangup, No Action [which does nothing], and Accept), and it also has a White List (which is very useful for parents, since you can setup the phone to only allow calls to and from pre-defined numbers.)
I create blacklists in iBlacklist, and put these numbers in - no unwanted calls EVER ring on my phone (OK, well, sometimes one will pop up that I don't have, which is why I end up here, find out who it is, and add them to the proper blacklist.) Bada bing, they always get a busy signal when they call me. :D
Of course, from now one I'm giving them my Google Voice number, which is WAY better; Google Voice forwards to my "real" number, so it's transparent to the caller, but the BEST feature of Google Voice is that when someone calls, I can go into the settings and BLOCK that person/number - if they call again, they'll get a recording saying "This number is no longer in service." For everyone else, it works fine. Plus, when I answer a Google Voice call, I just press 4, and it RECORDS THE CALL FOR ME.
Google Voice works with *any* phone, not just an iPhone. Check it out - you won't be disappointed. Plus you can pick your phone number (and have it spell what you want, if it's available! Mine spells something dirty. LOL)
keep receiving calls from this #. when you p/u, a machine recording is on regarding boa. the message always states this is a very important call, call back asap
This is NOT Bank of America! I work for Bank of America, have 2 accounts and a credit card with BOA. This is NOT them! They call from an 800 number. I checked these numbers (this same co. has called me from FOUR different phone numbers) and he told me plain as day they don't have a third-part collection agency for LATE or MISSED payments. They contact a third party collection ONLY if a payment hasn't been made in 3+ months.
Plus when they call me, they don't identify themselves... And IF they do ID themselves, they say they are: CARD SERVICES, BANK OF AMERICA, CITIBANK, PAYPAL, FIA CARD SERVICES, and pose as other such businesses.
They've left 2 messages saying they want to discuss business opportunities and/or my financial state. They say they want to help me, offer me investment opportunities. There is NO reason to do that. My accounts and payments are current and if BOA wanted to extend any opportunities to me, they would send it to me via my company e-mail, or by contacting my boss to give me the literature. So, basically, this is fake.
This is a SCAM guys! They want your account number. They want your credit/debit number! They want you to make a "payment". That's how they make money. Ask them questions. Ask them who they are, what exactly they want (without using fluff BS like "we need to discuss your account" or I have opportunities for you, so I need you account & credit card info... etc). Make them state their business... See how fast they try to talk around your questions! You start asking them questions, and they will stutter, scramble, and then hang up. Seriously.
Here are the phone numbers they've called me from this week: 469-201-4312, 973-848-5719, 716-656-6677, and 757-823-6827. I'm sure they've got many, many more... But these are the most recent I've confirmed. This is the only so-called collection/whatever agency that calls me. In fact, the majority of my calls are from this company! No other companies call me. This is a scam, don't fall for it, and don't give them your info!

Tried to post a comment already, but it didn't work, so I'm gonna try again...
This is NOT Bank of America! Or any other company for that matter. Its a scam "business". I work for BOA and I have 2 accounts and a credit card with them, all of which are current. I talked to my boss about all these numbers that I've received calls from. The people calling me claim to be a 3rd party collection agency for BOA, FIA card services, Capital One, Citibank, MBNA, card services, etc. They can't decide who they're using as a cover!
Anyway, when I talked to my boss, he said these numbers are not affiliated with BOA whatsoever. He said they do use a 3rd party collection agency, but ONLY when 3+ consecutive payments have been missed, and the agency uses an 800 number, and MUST leave a message.
He said the "company" calling from these phone numbers say you need to make a payment (so they can get your account #) and persist and harass you to make a payment using your credit or debit card so they can get your card number, exp. date, and the lil 3-digit # on the back... Then, they rob you blind. He informed me that BOA and other corps are trying to track these guys to file charges.
So these people have left me 2 messages. They want to discuss my finances and investment opportunities, or I've missed payments and need to call them by the end of the day to save my proverbial [***]. So... Why would one person from the company offer me investment opportunities if another one says I'm so behind I'm close to financial ruin? Because its a scam. If I was behind, I would be contacted by mail. If my employer (BOA) wanted to give me financial opportunities, they would contact me via my company e-mail account or send literature to my manager to give to me.
Bottom line: THIS IS A SCAM!!! Do NOT give them any info! In fact, make THEM give YOU info! Ask questions. Ask their full name, what the real name of their company is. Where they got your phone number. make them tell you your account number & SSN- they won't have it, because they're trying to get that from you. Ask them what they want. What they REALLY want. Let them stutter, stumble, scramble for a cover story, and then hang up on you. Bug them like they bug you... But do NOT EVER give them your info!
If you do think you have missed a payment, don't go through this "company". Mail it in, go down to your nearest branch, call the 1-800 number on your statement. Never trust anyone who calls from many diferent numbers that you don't know. Press them for info, they won't know it, and you will see that they are fake.
Here is a list of numbers I've recently confirmed to be originating from this scam ring:

973-848-5719
716-656-6677
757-823-6827
804-515-2937
