Ugh! I just created a domain for a class using iHost/Plesk and made the mistake of not paying for the privacy right away. On the same day I crated the odmain, i belatedly requested the add-on, but it's taken a while. Since I created the domain I have been inundated with emails and phone calls. Very annoying and frustrating
It's not GoDaddy, Directnic, or any other Registrar selling info... Your domain info is public! All the personal info you used to buy and register that domain is available for public viewing. Look up your domain name at whois.com and you'll see.
Update your registrant info to use an alternate phone number and email address. You should be able to do this from your account where you bought the domain from (GoDaddy, etc).
Or you can buy a service that makes that info private.
Sucks we have to take these measures because frickin' solicitors prey on newly registered domain owners.
This number is calling every single hour today. I have put it on the auto-reject list on my phone but they won't stop. Reporting to FCC, this is out of hand.
