They are calling for my ex-husband's new wife. Ugh no I don't know how to get a hold of them and if I knew where they lived I would be more than happy for you to serve legal papers to them. TRUST ME I would love for my ex-husband to be in trouble with the law. However they refuse to quit calling me on my cell phone.
Have been getting repeat calls from this number for about a week or so. Phone says it's from Texas and I don't know anyone who lives there currently, and the one I do know hasn't been there for about 8 years.
I've gotten numerous calls and not once has it left a voicemail, so I finally answered it. They indicated they were looking for a family member with regards to a civil suit but had no first name, and the last name was pronounced wrong. I told them they must have a wrong number, but they continue to call.
First - they are probably spoofing (faking) that number. There is a good chance these criminals are not even in the United States. They are trying to extort money with a fake law suit.
Second - They are breaking the law by contacting you (as a third party) even if a relative did owe money. They are phishing for information. Tell them nothing. Don't waste your time picking up the phone.
Those with land lines, think about getting the Panosonic talking caller ID telephone with over 3000 number storage that you can block the phone numbers after after 1st call shows number. Just save number to blocking and it will ring once then block it as long as you have Caller ID Service! I did this and each call I get, I GOOGLE the number to see what is before I block it to be sure.
Just food for thought for these Fraud callers!
This good for nothing outfit calls my house on a regular basis - I got another call this morning and they asked if someone would be home tomorrow to accept some legal documents - I said "Sure" and that we would be home all day. I asked if they had my address and the woman said I could not give it to them because they are a "third party" and that they could not take my address. I said "Don't call me then." I didn't give them a chance to give me the phone number I should call with a case #. I think they are junk debt collectors - we have been harassed for years because of a credit card debt that we NEVER had. I am going to block this phone number. Being on the Do Not Call list doesn't help at all. These slimey creatures still call.l
Just received a call from this number with a man stating they would be delivering civil documents to
my home tomorrow. When I asked what it was in reference to he gave me a case number and an 855 number (which turned out to be in Orlando Fl). This was a junk debt collector on a debt from 14 yrs ago when my husband lost his job. They tried to scare me into believing they were taking us to court and tried to get me to send money. I am in California, the above number is in Texas and the 855 number is in Florida. DONT ANSWER AND DONT FALL FOR THIS UNSCRUPULOUS COLLECTION AGENCY PLOY!!!!!!
