Recording: "This is not a sales call (sic) Thousands of dollars of life insurance with no money out of pocket if between 50-59. Press 1 to accept your life insurance" Click. I hung up, not even remotely close to me. Such spamming tactics are awful.
They called me yesterday and just a moment ago. I think it has something to do with collection. Debt Collectors use a number of different methods as a ruse to get your information.
Water Line Insurance
Debt Consolidation
Free Cruises
Political Surveys
...and things like Insurance Quotes. Here's how it works...
If these activities were not associated with an actual company it would be illegal. It is very easy to start a company, especially as a subsidiary or partner company. The main purpose is to get your PERSONAL INFORMATION. If they actually get you to buy the insurance or get some type of quote then they have succeeded because the main purpose for them was to get your information.
My advice...if you don't actually know the person or company calling you, don't talk to them or tie them up for a few minutes feeding them false information and asking questions or otherwise making them waste their time.
Didn't recognize number so didn't answer. No message left. My number is on "do not call" list. It's obvious some companies are very disrespectful and simply don't care about following the law.
