If you are getting spam text messages and you are using one of the major providers (Verizon, AT&T, Sprint or T-Mobile), forward that text to 7726 ("SPAM" on the number keyboard). THIIS *SHOULD* BE A FREE TEXT, but confirm with your provider. This enables the provider to gather enough complaints to pursue this in court, which is going to have a much greater impact than a single individual doing it.
I work nights and sleep during the afternoon, and use my phone's alarm feature. I got woke up at 1pm by an annoying computer telling me I'm paying too much for car insurance, AND I DON'T HAVE A CAR!!! I ride my bicycle to work.
REPORT THIS NUMBER. A YOUNG LADY ANSWERED SPEAKING ABOUT "LOWERING MY INSURANCE". I TURNED MY TELEPHONE RECORDER ON AND ADVISED HER THIS PHONE CALL WAS BEING RECORDED ON MY END. SHE VERY, VERY QUICKLY TOLD ME ALL OF OUR INFORMATION COULD BE FOUND AT (INAUDABILE). QUICKLY HUNG UP. ONCE AGAIN, REPORT THIS NUMBER EVEN IF YOU DIDN'T ANSWER. http://www.fcc.gov/complaints
