Called about a debt from 9 years ago. A house that was foreclosed on almost 10 years ago, due to the death of my husband. I also filed BK which included them. I have notified them they are not allowed to contact me, but they still call. They call from several numbers, all prefix 469. They also want to speak to my late husband. They are breaking the law. When I tell them that they are in violation, they don't care. They continue to ask for my deceased husband.

My late BIL also had a run-in with these bottom feeders over a second mortgage his ex-wife had defaulted on and the statute of limitations had long since expired. He sent them a letter informing them of this--and they responded by mailing him a rather innocent-looking form asking him to "update his account information". This was nothing more than a backhanded attempt on their part to get him to admit on paper he owed the debt. It was promptly fed through the shredder. He never heard from them again.
PS--Send them a copy of your husband's death certificate and a letter demanding they stop calling. Be sure to do it VIA certified mail and get a receipt. This is your right under Federal law. If they continue calling, you can sue them for harassment.
