This number is associated with a SCAM from Jamaica trying to extort money from the elderly in the United States.  Hang up on this number!

The other number they have used is 876-543-8787.  Scam from Jamaica!  Hang up on them!  Don't even say hi!

I blocked this number - came in on my cell phone. However, I called it back from a landline (not mine) and all I got was a recording saying "press 9 to be placed on the do not call list"; of course I did not press any buttons. I just waited. I got a recording saying "sorry you are having problems" then was disconnected. Very interesting!
The landline I called from is not a number they can scam, so no problems there.

There are no reports so I called back the number.  Google says its a pet adoption number.  It is yet another number that says when you call back to "press 9 if you want to be put on the do not call list".  NEVER EVER DO THAT!  Then if you do nothing it says " sorry that you are having trouble, goodbye".  New plan: Answer call count to 5, hang up. YOU ARE A TELEMARKETER, AND I DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH ANY COMPANY THAT USES TELEMARKETING AS A FORM OF ADVERTISING".  DON'T ANSWER UNKNOWN CALLS. DON’T HAVE YOUR NUMBER REMOVED! When you press the number to have your number removed, you confirm that your number is a working number and then they sell your known active number to another scammer. Now I either block the numbers or I don't answer the phone at all.

ROBO CALLS: Each area code has 9,999,999 numbers. Add 800 possible area codes.  The program starts calling every number that it can in succession.  So they don't need to buy or obtain lists from anyone so DNC does not work. The FTC receivesanywhere from 250,000 to 300,000 complaints per month, with robocalls responsible for around 60% of those complaints.

So, just block them, and continue using this great site for information to be in control of your own home and cell phone calls.  If it turns out that you did not answer a call from someone you know (number not on this site), just call them back.  No problem. MY HOME PHONE (Panasonic Link2Cell Bluetooth® KX-TGH263B LCD/2 Handsets) BLOCKS 250 NUMBERS AND THE ADDRESS BOOK HOLDS 3,000 numbers and the phone talks to you and says spam from across the room (like if you are up on a ladder).  I save each call as spam and don't answer it.  Right now I have 98 numbers saved as spam and still have room for 2900 more.

NOTHING IS GOING TO STOP THESE SCAMMERS AND LAZY COLLECTION AGENCIES (statute of limitations on debt:  (http://www.creditinfocenter.com/rebuild/statuteLimitations.shtml) who call everyone with the same name instead of looking up the right one and all we can do is block them or use call forward selective..  ITS OUR LIFE AND WE NEED TO TAKE IT BACK.
One person said to call forward selective to the FCC whose number is 1-717-338-2533

The Center for Investigative Reporting joined two news organizations in an investigation of groups that use telemarketers to raise money and what they found is that most of the money is paid to telemarketers, leaving the charities with little, if anything. (3%)

Not only that but reputable charitable organizations don't solicit donations by phone.

So it's good advice to remember to just say no to anyone who solicits over the phone unless you actually personally know the person calling.

DEBT COLLECTORS
This was posted on this web site:

The Fair Debt Collection Act (FDCPA) was put into place To give people legal rights when it comes to collection agencies and collection attorneys.  If this collection agency is calling you for a debt you owe or a debt that is not yours, they could be violating your rights.

IF YOU ARE BEING CONTACTED BY ANY COLLECTION AGENCY,  get in contact with         http://www.fdcpacompliance.com/           asap so they can determine what rights these bottom feeders have violated and take action.   More and more American’s find themselves being hounded by debt collectors as a result of our country’s recent economic downturn.  The good news is that harassment is an illegal act according to the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA).  The great news is that each infraction is PUNISHABLE UP TO $1,000.00 TO THE CONSUMER for statutory damages, and possibly more for actual damages!  The offending agency also has to pay your attorney’s fees.  The only thing that the consumer generally has to do is help to gather and provide information.

Didn't answer this call.  They left a robo voicemail message, saying if I allow them to put a GE Security sign on my front lawn, they'll install a security system for free.  KERPLUNK!  Another illegal robo caller (I'm on the DNC list) call blocked now.
