Its a scam, i get numerous calls from different numbers and they all say a slightly different charity name and when i research those names, theres nothing about the charity or the number. I always say i donate in person, not over the phone.
Word to the wise: If you arent sure and want to donate, ask for an address and tell them you will send a check. If its a real charity, they will give you the info. Scammers try to get money that cant be tracked back to them, by saying you can pay with a credit card or money gram, etc.
Took numerous hellos before it connected to what sounded like a recording. My husband asked how his mom was doing, it asked to repeat. He again asked how his Mom was doing. The voice then said this is his job and he takes it very seriously and obviously we're not interested and would take us off of their calling list. Yeah. Do that.
