Got a letter in the mail saying I won 470k and I had to deposit tge checj sent to me worth $2975 to pay my taxes! Once I deposit it I should give them a call back. My husband and I both knew it was a scam so we called several times as different people and they never asked me for any information, I even game them the wrong name and a wrong claim number and they still said congrats you are our second prize winner! After we told them we depostied it theu gave us a address to send them our money to pay taxes on our check we were about to receive. We knew it was a scam, I hope the FBI nails these people.
Recieved a letter mailed from Canada with a check for $4950 drawn on Commerce Bank in NJ. The letter saying I had won $270,000 had an address in Odessa, TX. Called the bank in NJ, they say the check is bogus & they are working with the FBI on this. Knew it was a scam, but made the call anyway. If you get a check from someone you don't know... check it out before messing up your bank account.
Got a letter yesterday from Global Consulting Inc out of Irving TX, with the same phone number. In the letter was a check for $4417.00 drawn on JP Morgan Chase Bank in Dallas, TX. Going to report it to the FTC and to my bank.
