Well ladies and Gents I also worked at HP Locate which was most definitely a legitimate business!! First of all the business started only 2 years ago so they are actually still workin out a few kinks. BUT as far as the work that was done, Just because u feel like its harassment Does Not mean it is!! There are rules and protocols that are followed! If they said you couldnt call friends, relatives, neighbors, etc.... then we wouldnt have! As for the agent who called at 2am That 1 agent was wrong and im more than sure fired! That was 1 person who broke the rules not the entire company. This Erik R person was standing up for the company in the first post when he was still working there, but it seems like after u lost ur job is when u got on here and started down talking the company? STILL UPSET HUH? LOL! Get over it! And as was said they have the right to call whom ever is listed in the national database as a possible contact for the person they r looking for. Every1 does not always update their information so if you receive a call thats for some1 u dont know simply tell them that. I dont know that person please dont call me again. Simple as that! But at the same time with my experience when i was there im sure i spoke with over 100 people who said they were not the person we were looking for but in fact were. When this happens guess what we have to invalidate your actual number and try to get in contact with u thru others. And for the fam and friends who want to be nosey and find out what it is before actually helping out make it harder on us and themselves. WE CAN NOT RELEASE ANY1S PRIVATE INFO TO JUST ANY1! THAT IS Y THEY HAVE TO VERIFY THAT THEY ARE SPEAKING WITH THE CORRECT PERSON. HP Locate is simply a Locating company not a debt collector. They locate people, Thats the damn job!! Heritage Pacific is the company that HP Locate comes from and they are the actual collectors. Do ur homework!!
Why would I care what my neighbor owes. That is his business. You shouldn't be calling a neighbor to try to locate the person. Keep calling him till he answers. How are you in compliance with the Do not call list if I don't have any business with you.
Sounds like the same company who has refused to leave me message on my voice mail. This number has shown up on my caller Id when I was at work or with my kid, but did not leave a voice message on my voice mail. I have left on my incoming message with my name and phone number to leave a message for me to call back. If they do not leave a message, then I will not call them back. My mother email me today and said they contacted her and stated they were not a bill collection agency and they needed to speak to me. I have not lived with my parents for 10 plus years. It is annoying that someone would stoop so low to contact my parents when they could at least leave me a message in the first place and not just hang up after getting my voicemail. And also I have notices they like to call up until 8:30pm (CST) and on Sundays when I am at church.
Just as Attorneys were jumping on the collection agency bandwagon..now comes PI's to circumvent FDCPA....BUY A TAPE RECORDER..if they are calling on behalf of a debt then they are bill collectors under the FDCPA
Keep receiving msgs on answering machine for someone who does not live at my address. 4th msg today. called and asked them to take me off their calling list. They tried to trick me and get me to say I was related to the person they were calling about. Asked them to stop calling. They said they would. I guess we will have to see. They stated in one of the messages that they were attempting to collect a debt.
