I've received ridiculous amounts of calls from this number 469-351-3450 over the last few months. Always let it go to voicemail and always leaves the same pre-recorded message, save for yesterday. Listened to the first half of the message left yesterday and they claimed it was a 'final courtesy/final warning.' Today, received a call from 504-264-5728 claiming I would be served court documents within the next 24-48 hours, and if I had any issue to contact a different number 804-603-1119. All I've found about this "Rothstein Acquisition Firm" seems to say that it's a scam and they're a company trying to use scare tactics to get money out of people. We'll see if anyone actually 'serves' me. If memory serves me right, I received a similar message a few months ago saying the same thing, and nobody ever showed up.
same thing happened with me first they told me I owed me money and I thought maybe I did so I actually had given them a prepaid credit card number and they told me they were going to mail me stuff but they never did then a few days before they were supposed to pull out I called them and they told me they don't have to give me any information and that if I didn't pay them I was going to jail after I did not pay them because it was a prepaid card I just cut it up and got rid of it then they proclaimed that they were from the county courts office on an unavailable number looking for me I called my local county courts office and the local da they told me this is completely fake and that if they ever did have a reason to take me to court the voicemails that I have saved from them and voicemails are people proclaiming to be part of the local court clerk's office when in fact they were not allow for me to do a counter sue for personal damages anyway they stopped calling me daily and started calling me once a week and just leaving an automated message for about 3 weeks and then all of a sudden they started calling me back almost as if they had forgot their talk to me originally and they were back to the beginning scamming process
I received the exact same call yesterday saying I will need two forms of ID to sign for the documents. Please let us know if anyone comes to serve you.
Scam. Being in debt is not a crime and you cannot be arrested for it. They are just trying to scare you into paying them something.
Just because a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt does not mean you owe it
If a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt:
1. Demand the person give you his or her name, company name, and address
2. Demand a debt validation letter by US mail. E-mail no good.
3. Do not pay the collection agent or anyone else a DIME until the debt is validated.
Of course they won’t do this, no scammer ever will, so simply block their calls and ignore them.
If they continue to bother you, and you know you do not owe any money, tell them that you know this is a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion. Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved. Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them at whatever address the jack***es are working out of now.
ID themselves as Rothstein Acquisitions Firm. Unpleasant crew.
NOTE: The agent for service of process is: JERALD VERHAGEN which I'm certain is one and the same as JERRY VERHAGEN who is the official designated agent of Cooper Mediation a debt collection outfit with a long history of debt scamming on 800notes.
