Got a call from Tim from this number this morning. He said he was representing a air duct cleaning company although I did not get the name of the company. $199 gets all air ducts cleaned in the house, plus 3 rooms of carpet cleaned or a dryer vent cleaned. He said the business was located in Plano, Texas and had been in business for 25 years. I listened to the whole sales pitch and made an appointment for Monday at 9:00 am. While I was speaking with him I was checking the number and making notes of everything he said. I called and it said it was a number that could not take calls. I cannot wait to see if this guy shows up. Later in the evening I called the number and a young man (adolescent) said no Tim lived there and I had the wrong number. Authorities have been notified.I live in the Carrollton, Texas area. Lately, I have received several of these kinds of calls.
Got a call from this number. Told them I didn't need my air ducts cleaned so then he asked if I needed carpets steamed. I said no. They have just tried to call me again. Number comes up unavailable. I am on a do not call list and my number is unlisted so not sure how they got my number.
I recieved this phone call the other day as well spoke about ducts and carpets. I said no thank you and hung up. today he calls and it is someone different his voice was country boy like he said my favorite and hung up.
Betty, you need to report this to your local police department & to your phone company. Never, never, never say yes that the name he says happens to be your name. If you are on the no call list, tell them that you will report this phone number to all authorities, 1st, immediately report this to your phone company (ask when you call your phone company if they offer call blocking, some companies still do but if they don't you can research it on the Internet for services to be downloaded on cell phone or if your are using a home phone, you can also research call blocking devices that you can buy to add to your telephone. Call Blocking devices range from around $40.00 & higher. You can also buy simple to use ones to very complicated)...2nd, report this to the States Attorney Generals office & if this continues to happen, call the FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigations)...If it continues, this is harassment & needs to be stopped.
Felicia, call your phone company & report this. This is definately harassment since they had someone call you back. Be sure & tell the phone company what was said to you & how the people reacted to your answer of saying no. If you have a home phone, you can buy a Call Blocking machine to block calls. If you have a cell phone you can research the Internet & look for cell phone call blocking services. Call Blocking machines for a home phone range around $40.00 & higher depending on how fancy you want. If you are continued to be bothered by these same people with the same number calling you, then report it to your phone company, The Attorney General & if they just won't quit, call the FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigations).
The more people report these unwanted calls, the better chance we have at getting something done. If people don't report problems with these scumbag thief scam callers, then nothing can get done.
