Burt and associates are fools! Paul Chance and Jeff Scout calls my company talks with my employees about my financial matters then they ask my employee if they should sue me. They have not one clue on how to conduct themselves in a professional matter. These are uneducated individual. I will not pay them a cent!
This is the most unprofessional business I've ever encountered.
They called and harassed and threatened me. Said they were going to bring my wife's credit into it (which is interesting since the debt they are questioning is a corporate business debt).
They have misrepresented themselves in a letter using the verbiage of a law firm when they are not.
I was first called by a guy who called himself Nelson Brooks. He's a grandiose [***] who acts like he's far more important than his position entails. He calls from Burt's "World Headquarters" in Plano, TX. Don't you love little people who claim the world!?!?!????
He went straight to threats over the phone and after the first call only called from a blocked number (Does ANYONE ever answer a blocked number when they have voice mail????).
He kept telling me he was sending me an email and then I would get one from an "Alex Tejada". Will the real Nelson Brooks please stand up?
A couple of weeks went by and then a woman started to call. Non-threatening except that each call came with a deadline ("You need to call me not later than 10:00 this morning."). Her m.o. is to remain calm but to (try to) use big words and make things sound like legal terminology so she can portray representation of a law firm. Again, this is NOT a law firm.
So here's the funny part. PART of the debt is legit as the company I work for got behind with one of our vendors due to our wonderful economy ("hope and change" doesn't go very far when the bills are due. I prefer "work and payment".....). I've been making payments to the vendor as funds come in and am almost payed in full.
I wish I could be there when Burt and it's flunkies finally figure out that the debt's been paid and they have no claim here!
Wow.....I hadn't read the commentary from "Laughing...." posted in March when I posted this. Seems I'm not the only one......
Good to know I've got company.
Its so satisfying to see it wasn't me that was the problem at Burt. I left there 2 years ago and I'm not even in the collection world any longer. Sadly these folks are not trained to do anything else. Make no mistake though when it comes to a management team NRS is much worse than Burt.
