Who called from 4694243033

I got a few messages on my answering machine from this number that were hang-ups.  My answering machine message is admitedly somewhat generic, so most people don't know whether it is me or someone else.  Still, I did not recognize this number so I ignored it for weeks.  Finally they left a message asking for someone else.  I called them back and informed them that I was not the person they were looking for and they apologized saying it was the number they had on file for one of their debtors.  I assured them I was not the person they were looking for and they apologized for the inconvenience...I have received no further calls from the and it has been several weeks now.

I was ignoring the calls from this number for a while, because I was sure I didn't owe any debt.  I looked up the number and saw that they are a collection agency.  Finally, I answered to tell them to stop calling me and explain that I don't owe any one any money.  Turns out I was wrong, my company owed a debt to one of our vendors.  It was an honest mistake, I explained to them we had contracted a job that required more than one vendor, and we were not aware they had billed seperately for their part.  The collection agent I spoke with was very professional about it and understanding, they were able to provide all of the documentation about the debt and help me work out an arrangement to pay it off.  I guess the lesson learned is that if you are getting calls from a collector and they are misinformed, just give them the correct info.  And if you actually do owe a debt, then make arrangements to pay it.

I got a call from this number and thought it was a wrong number.  Apparently our company had an unpaid debt I wasn't aware of...we spoke with two or three agents, I think one was a manager...they were very diligent about making sure my account was handled properly and they were all very professional, for my experience, not rude to me or condescending at all.  So, I worked with them to get the account squared away.  I really don't have a single complaint.

These guys called me to inform me about a debt I thought I had already paid.  I was pretty fired up about it and hung up on them.  When I looked it up later, I understood I had in fact made an error in the amount and had since ignored all attempts by them to contact me for the remaining amount...oops.  Anyhow, these callers were debt collectors and they were persistent and I gave them what for a few times, but they were actually very professional and just trying to do their job.  If I had known about my error I probably would have been nicer.
