This guy(s) called my house phone, then my cell phone, then my wife's cell phone. There are a handful of people who would have all those unpublished numbers outside of medical, credit/finance related, and a couple of family members. While I have a Real Estate license, I don't think that is a clue as my home phone would never be connected to that. Given the Papa Johns and Dominos are close to me too, this guy is abusing some local list.
They called yesterday to "try to buy my home". They knew my name, street address, and phone number and I unintentionally verified that information. Today, I have a new inquiry on my credit report. Someone tried to open a Walmart account in my name. Could be a coincidence, but it smells phishy.
That would explain all the previous posts. The owner of a piece of real estate is a public record, although a telephone number is usually not included in that record.
I would notify the Credit Reporting Agency of this "coincidence".
Same as others, called and asked if I was interested in selling my home and he mentioned my location, I asked how did he obtain my phone number, he said public records. I believe he is a scammer.
