Have received a bunch of these calls but only the first one was for me. It was on Christmas eve and I answered the call and told I was being served by someone and to call another # and follow up. I did and was told that I was being sued by Sprint. I explained to the man on the other end of the line that I was a customer of Sprint and was talking to him on their phone. I have never even had a late payment with Sprint. He told me to look into it but kept trying to get my ssn. I refused the information and have never heard from them again personally. However I get calls three of four times a week from the same company looking for someone else now. They are PHISHING and I hope the feds bust their [***].
Called this afternoon at 3:40 PM. Caller ID just says "Dallas TX".I did not recognize the number so I did not answer and they did not leave a message. Reading through other posts for this number, I think this is related to scam calls I have been receiving for the past week stating they will be delivering legal summons papers for a person I have never heard of but with my last name. The caller states they and want to confirm that the person will be home to receive the summons. I have repeatedly said I have never heard of the person to whom they refer. I did not say I have the same last name or give any other information. They also did not say my address so this just smells of a scam.
They obtain the information if you apply for anything online. You put your information into a form that is sent to multiple companies which is how they have the details. They call me regularly from many different places with job information that hasn't been valid since 2008 and a bank account that has been closed just as long. They are just looking for the people scared enough to pay. No legal entity calls to tell you that you are going to be served or says may God bless you or good luck before he hang up. These people are the scum of the earth an mostly untraceable. I have researched numbers over and over again and they never lead to anything legitimate.
