Received call and voice mail from "Ms. White" on behalf of "Ms. Brooks" at x102 at 10:58 am EDST on 06/23/2017. Provided case number and requested immediate callback on legal case/law suit for outstanding debt. This is a false attempt to collect and possible phishing scam. Confirmed with credit bureau and credit report; zero negative issues and no outstanding debts are pending. Do not answer or call back. Block number and report to your state attorney general's office. No company or other identifying information was left. Another commenter mentioned caller ID as Affordix; however they are a telecom/data company and are not associated with this number or any debt collection organization.
Received a message on my home phone that my financial institution had contacted "them" about a problem associated with my social security number. Left a name of "Miss White" and a claim number stating I had 24 hours to call back. I googled the number, then called from work. All I got was a voice mail saying Miss White was not available, but I should leave a message & my call would be returned in 24 hours. The message also gave another number to try but I didn't write it down. I didn't leave a message but later received a call from this number & the woman said she had missed a call from my work number. I played dumb so she hung up. I had already talked to someone at my bank & she confirmed it was a scam. Affordix is the name that came up on the caller ID on my work phone.
This company "mrs. White" called my wife with threats of wage garnishment and contacting her employer. Threats concerning collecting a debt that is not hers (and over 10 years old) This is totally not legitimate and illegal debt collection process. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES should you agree to pay these people anything! THIS IS A SCAM!! Not a legitimate collection agency. The should have a lawsuit against them for the pain and suffering they have caused my spouse in the way they attacked and threatened her with garnishments, contacting her employer, telling her she would not be able to register her vehicle, they would contact the state agencies and other threats. THIS IS DESPICABLE!!!
This number called me asking for my ex husband who I've been divorced from for 10 years and have had no contact with. I asked her to remove my name from her list. She told me she was a secretary for an attorney who had information that there was a law suit against me and ex husband and asked if she could transfer me to the attorney directly. I said to please mail me the information. She said they don't do that. She told me in a very threatening manner that there was a law suit in both of our names and it sounded like I didn't care. She said that my car (gave yr and make, but no model), with license plate (old license plate #), would be flagged and I would not be able to obtain a registration next time it is up for renewal. She told me my full name, birth date, and last 4 digits of my SSN. Then she hung up on me. Scam, no doubt, but one who looks up stuff using public records.
Ms. White left a voice message stating that the county I live in filed a lawsuit against me and she needed to get my side of the story. She stated that I had till 10:30am the next day to respond. She said that my car (gave yr and make and model) would be flagged and I would not be able to obtain a registration next time it is up for renewal. She knew the last 4 digits of my SSN.
