I answered because "THATS WHY I HAVE A PHONE" but mostly because I'm expecting a call from my daughter in the Air Force, being deployed over seas I never know what my caller ID will be. Anyway, they asked if I voted in the last election and I told them it was none of their business, they asked me to spell my very simple name, I also told them if they knew me they would know how to spell my name and hung up. It's so sad that I can't use my own phone without being blasted with call from God knows who! I hardly ever got a call until I placed my name on the so-called do not call list...!!!
Does not matter if you are on dnc list. A large portion of these scams get your number from your doctors office and medical records they share and even your pharmacy. Think about it, who do you give your non published number to??
I've got to the point where I have turned off my answering machine. That way they think it's a dead number. I just look at the number and if I know it, I pickup. If I'm out and later check the number and know it, I call back. I know this wouldn't work for everyone. I don't get many personal calls, so thus this works for me. Has cut the number of calls to almost nothing.

I am a very trusting person, I'm afraid. This # reports itself as 'Informed Electorate PAC'. They have made many calls, 2-3 offering a survey of one to two Q's regarding political issues. I feel strongly about voter participation in the process...and perhaps this has made me vulnerable. Until today, I did not question their validity. But today's encounter has left me questioning. Not being able to find their website has not helped. Is there indeed a way/forum for reporting such, that has the ability to track down and otherwise impede their ability to take advantage of ??? people like me ??? who aren't savvy to the ways of those who do such things? Thank You.
