Just donate to them one time, and they will call often; hence, yearly at different times asking for donations for the Sherrif Dept, Cancer [***]., Firefighters [***]. etc...These scammers as I would consider them, never
stop. They even send a sticker with the year's date to look authentic.
Just call the same number back, and they will never answer. One time I
called back, and since they did not want to answer, placed the phone down
and let it keep ringing, just to annoy them whereever they were(CHING!).
If you receive a call from this number (or the Texas Fratenity of Police), it is not really the the FOP organization calling. It is a for-profit company that gives 6% - 10% of all money collected to the FOP. The rest they keep as "operating expenses" (profit). One of their tactics is to act as if they are actual police officers when they ask for money. They are not. Only give money to this company if you think dontating money to a for-profit company pretending to be something they are not is a good idea.
