I just went through this for a home listed in Jacksonville Florida: 1318 Avondale Ave. What a joke. The e-mails he sent me are nearly identical to some of the ones above, only he's calling himself "Leigh C Shannon" and signs the e-mails "Leigh C and Family." Luckly the Craigslist ad was already flagged for removal and I never called or sent anything to him. I really hope this has never actually worked for him.

We are pleased that you have an interest in our house, Our lovely home is still available for lease and we want responsible adults/family who are neat and also believe that they have what it takes to take care of our house as if it were theirs. My wife and I initially had it up for sale but had a change of mind in leasing it out ourselves because the agent that was in charge of our rental property was asking too much of an agent fee and also making it difficult for people who cannot afford the rent, stay away from renting my house.

I work as a Robotic Programmer & Welder/Fitter here in Atlanta GA  and got married to a lovely wife who is a member of Joyce Meyer Ministries . We will be very
pleased if we can find the right tenant to rent our home, a person who is a clean freak and does not tolerate anything that has to do with dirt... we also would like to know more about you and your family, your renting experience and how long and when you plan moving into our home. There is a post on craigslist with a home for rent in Middletown NY. The man claims his name is Eric Plett his phone # is 646-481-2849. The address of the property for rent is 8 Gabby Lane Middletown NY 10940. It is a scam. Please note that his reply email is similar to other one above he claims to have taken a job for a company Robotic Programmer Welder & Fitter and his wife Dianne is with Joyce Meyer Ministries. He contacted my husband last night not once but twice claiming he needed the money sent to him that he was unable to show the property due to him working in Illinois. He also sent my husband an email asking for name,present address, number of family member, pets and employment history. I also flagged the page on craiglist. He has an accent must be nigerian. Be careful when looking for homes or apartments to rent on craigslist this isn't the first one that I found is a scam. Some advice ask for their rental license for a property and never send money without seeing the place. Good Luck I hope no one gets taken by these people

You guys just saved us from making a huge mistake. We got the exact same e-mails. They were disguised as Susan Gropp and family. Moved to Atlanta, Georgia. Thanks so much guys! We definitely won't be sending them any money.

I just got this same almost identical message. I am scared to death is this a money scam or what am i safe ive never encountered this before i just started using internet. I have a whole family pictures i sent to him with a detailed application. Does anyone have any advice for me im soo scared.
