Telemarketer, credit repair, Royce City TX. Note that have received a call with no message, could not return call from Davenport WA which had the same last 4 digits of phone number 9866. Coincidence unlikely!!!
they called me today too....I have reported Card Members Services to the FTC so many times with so many different scammed numbers...yet they are still active.
They will always be active--Rachel or someone else--as long as they keep spoofing numbers, like someone spoofed mine, and the phone companies keep handing out numbers--The FCC has done nothing with any of the numbers I've reported in the last 10 years.
Calls my cell phone. I do not answer these calls. I was expecting a call from a area code last week and answered a bogus number. It was this Rachel who has called forever.. They keep changing numbers and I mark them scam in my cell phone after I check Google and White pages to see who was calling. I feel that if anyone wants me they will leave a message so just ignore these calls.
I agree. The federal government needs to make these phone companies responsible for the numbers they "own."
Since every number can be tracked to a phone company, perhaps people receiving these harassing phone calls should call the phone companies that owns these numbers and tell them "we'll keep calling every time we get a harassing phone call" until phone companies start doing something to "protect" the numbers they own.
I'd bet my last dollar that if a thief was stealing from companies that sell dynamite, guns, explosives etc. etc., and then using those things against citizens, the federal government would step in and tell those companies they need to tighten security. This is the same thing. Phone companies need to tighten security around their phone numbers so they don't get stolen and used against innocent people.
I have over 700 numbers blocked ... that means I've gotten MORE than 700 calls. Yet they keep coming. It's time to do something about it. Every time one of these spoofed calls come in, go online and search for the phone company that owns that phone number ... then give them a call. I can assure you ... after 700 calls, they will do something to stop this nonsense.
