I think it was the same Russian-sounding gentleman who sent me the link to install the free RAM upgrade, which I did, but then my laptop wanted bit coins to decrypt my documents and pictures. They would take light coins, too, but I never used bit coins or light coins, and it was too complicated when he tried to tell me where to get some. I don't know about the CPU enhancer that he just now sent me the link for. Will this also want bit coins to decrypt my files? I will have to get in touch with this gentleman to find out how this stuff is supposed to work.
Same old scam going on for years; number (in fact whole area code of Dallas, TX) has been blocked on our lines for a long time so they don't get through. As to Ben above, how could one be so dumb these days? Sounds like he got what was invited & deserved!
So much for the newly enacted Fed Law mandating Telemarketers disclose actual info; the DNC will never work & have doubts this law will either. Bottom line - don't answer, NEVER CALL BACK & INVEST IN A QUALITY PHONE SYSTEM TO BLOCK INDIVIDUAL NUMBERS & WHOLE AREA CODES OF MULTI-THOUSANDS WITH ONE ENTRY!
Received a call from this number multiple times over the course of days. I finally answered it and they told me i had been approved for a grant. I told them i wasn't in need of a grant and to remove my name from the list, he told me he couldn't (very thick accent and hard to understand). I told him he could remove my name and number from his list and to stop calling. He tried guilting me into not answering his questions (you are turning down a free $14000). I told him i want my name and number removed from the list that they bought and to stop calling. That was when he hung up.
