Debt is civil, not criminal, so no one is arrested for failure to pay back a debt. While you're at it, you can give us the name of the company, phone number and address. You'll have to forgive me for thinking you're a pre-emptive shill for debt collectors, but your post reads just like one.
You are one brain dead scammer, aren't you "Derek"? What you're attempting to do is called "pre-emptive shilling". This is when a mentally challenged scammer posts a bogus line of BS hoping that he can step out ahead of the complaints that will be pouring in soon. It doesn't work. The regulars here can smell a fraud a mile away. Especially the "all caps" clowns like you!
Here you fire up a new number & promptly manage to expose it as a fraud...all by yourself. You are definitely in the wrong line of work. It may be hard to fathom, but you're too stupid to even make it as a fraud. What other options you might have is beyond me. You're already at the bottom. What else could you possibly do? Well, who cares? You're a bogus debt collector because you've fouled your life up to such a degree that you can't do honest work. That's your fault & it's your problem. No one here cares & the people who actually know you don't care either. The only friends a fraud has are other frauds. Having friends like that is worth the same thing you are. Nothing!
We'll be watching your new number "Derek". And we'll be ready to inform your intended victims of their rights & of the laws governing the collection of debt. When one of your targets find their way here...you're done. They won't be falling for any miserable fraud trying to defraud them of money. Welcome to the real world "Derek". You can watch, but you're not talented enough to be in it.
Skeff Ett Liv!

Hey Miss know it all, i was just telling my story. i could care less if anyone beleives it or not and although it is a civil matter, uttering is not. that's against the law. if you are not famaliar with uttering, it basically means writing a worthless check. and mine was over $300. good luck and have a good day.
Derek, we do have a problem with folks coming on the site and posting tall tales on behalf of illegal debt collectors, so please excuse the skepticism of some folks who replied to you. On the other hand, I can understanding you being very upset with the experience you just reported. The last thing I would ever want to see is things getting out of control because of a simply misunderstanding.
Good news, there just so happen to be a few folks here who know a thing or two about uttering. The use of those charges would clearly depend on the state in which one resides.
What state are you in?
What was the uttering charge related to --- a prescription, check, merchandise or contract.
What is the name of the company or organization who called you?
If you could answer these, I'm sure this who misunderstanding could be cleared up
