I answered as I was expecting a call from my insurance company. However, the recording said it was from "Account Services" about lowering interest rate. I pressed 1 and was connected to a person who barely spoke English and was struggling through what was obviously a script. I asked what account this was referring to and he listed off essentially every large bank associated with credit cards and then said how they could lower my interest rate on my account as I owe over $3,500. I don't owe that much on any account nor do I owe that combined across all my cards. When I questioned this and said "No, I do not. What information are you looking at, what are the accounts and account numbers you are referring to?" he repeated the same thing two more times about what I owe and how he could lower my interest rate. I said, "I don't know what you are talking about" and then the call was disconnected.
Its a scam and they're are fishing for you to feed them account information, obviously. Your credit card company would never call you and ask you things like that. Total garbage.
