Some foreign man talking about my computer. I stopped him and said I don't have a computer and don't know how many times I have to tell you. He said okay what is your name gave him my name asked my age I told him no I want you to stop calling my age has nothing to do with you calling me. I stated this is harassment you called me twice in 15 minutes I will sue if you call again. He said he will sue me because I wont give him any info on me. Then he went on and called me stupid. Ino return I told him to go back to his country and harass them and leave America alone.
A guy called me, sounded from India. He says my windows computer has sent them, 2 days ago, information about being hacked and corrupted and full of spyware and viruses. (Problem: my windows computer has not been on for 6 months.) I told him, it has not be on for 6 months. He said it does not matter. I asked which computer is it? He says the windows computer. I asked him which computer is it, is it dell, hp, Sony, but he would not hear me out. He would not let me finish, he continue to interrupt me and said windows computer, not the brand. I asked which windows? He said windows 10. I laughed, saying I don't have 10, I have 95, 97, ME, XP....(I know, there is no 97, it is 98). He wanted to get on the other line...he said the line was breaking up. Then he demanded I turn on the windows computer for him. I said no and asked for which model is sending the information to him. He said the model does not sent information, the windows 10 does. I told him, I don't have 10. He demanded I need to turn on windows computer. (I do know if an OS is sending information, the manufacturer of the computer would be included.). He kept on calling me ma'am. I asked if he does not tell me which computer it is, I can not help him. He demanded the windows computer. Then he asked me for my age. I asked him what does that have to deal with. He asked if I was 27. I asked why are you asking. He said 'are you 27....okay...goodbye." Do not call listen does not work.
Actually, this type of caller scammed my friend how is 21, and she saw them taking over her computer, controlling the mouse and such. She went to the college's computer experts and they removed their added files and junk. She learned not to accept this type of brute force hack over the phone that she did not ask. I told her only allow that when you call the manufacturer's helpline or places like Best Buy. That was 2 days ago.
Called today at 7:44 PM. He told me he was from Microsoft and that my computer was sending error messages. He asked me to turn my computer on. I informed it that my computer was already on. He went on for a while. Couldn't understand most of it as he spoke with a heavy Indian accent. I stopped him and told him i was going to need him to sing the Star Spangled Banner in order for us to continue. This really confused him. Told him to try working for a living and stop trying to scam people. Called him a dirty name and ended the call. No call back as of yet.
Just received same type of "Im from Microsoft & there's a problem w/your computer" call (he called himself Simon). Phishing for info & I listened for s few minutes & then I told him he should get another job because these calls are getting more annoying than amusing. I hung up & got a return call within 10 minutes & I responded w/a firm take me off your phone list & he hung up. UGH - they are relentless!!
