I'm not sure exactly how these calls can be prohibited. I suppose if the FCC or FTC had a list of out-of-state numbers to block, that might work. However, scammers change numbers often and spoof numbers, so that wouldn't be effective over the long term. Besides, you're hoping that regulatory agencies might actually do something about these calls, and our experience with the DNC registry proves that they can't be bothered to do much of anything.
I have received 5 calls from this number within the last 24 hours. They leave no message and no related company. I won't answer these calls. I've called this number back and get a message to leave a message. I have not left any message. Can you stop these calls

I rarely answer calls when I don't recognize the number (and I never do at home) but when I saw this local call on my cell phone I thought it might be a client so I answered. Turns out it was some moron with an auto glass company selling windshields. It appears that he was just calling numbers at random, so I blocked him. When he asked me if I had any damage to my windshield, I told him that I didn't need a windshield and asked why he was calling. He answered, "we're doing a promotion!". Our DNC registry hard at work.
