My wife got a call from a guy claiming to be from Wells Fargo. He said that he saw she has a car loan, but it is not with Wells Fargo. He then asked to access her credit report, and she backed away rapidly. He got pretty pissy with her before she said to not call back and hung up. I spoke to Wells Fargo - they have no record of using that phone number, they do not make car loan transfer solicitation calls, and would not have access to information like who does in fact have her car note. Phishing attempt, plain and simple.
Received a message on my voicemail. Said it was James Moore from Wells Fargo and asked me to call him back. No further information given. I called back and got his voicemail but didn't leave a message.
