Got the call too, Chester Spring Pa. First I don't have PPL. I have rip off Peco. But. Have a another company that provides the electric for a cheaper rate.
When I have reported these calls to the PA do not call list (attorney general's office), I've received written responses that these calls originate outside of the U.S. and are somehow forwarded to local numbers. But because of their origination, PA has no jurisdiction over them; therefore, they cannot act on the complaints they receive. I guess we can turn the ringers off on our phones and just check caller ID occasionally to see if we actually have legitimate calls. Disgusting!
That's not true for every single phone number that calls a person. You have to file a Do Not Call complaint for each telephone number that calls you so they can investigate it to see if it's a call originating inside the U.S. If it's not originating inside the U.S., then no, Pennsylvania Attorney General's office doesn't have jurisdiction and refers you to file a complaint if you're also registered on the National Do Not Call list. If the call IS originating from inside the U.S., then the PA OAG most definitely DOES do something about it. You obviously missed the whole point of their letter.
I keep getting calls from 484-207-0712. I too don't answer a call from someone I don't know.
If my number was in the phone book I would be fair game for these a**holes. I have a non published number so I don't care if it is a charity organization or some telemarketer I should not get a call from anyone, I don't want a call from anyone.
