Same old scam, different number. You gotta love spoofing software and Magic Jack. The only good thing is sites like these; at least they have to keep changing numbers to keep up the extortion attempts.
Even if it's some other sort of loan you supposed ly owe them keep this in mind..l"agents" don't call first. If the DEA were after you, they wouldn't call first, and the FBI doesn't due debt collection. Even if they were after you for something, they wouldn't call first, either.
I received a call from a Paul Smith (with a totally foreign accent) stating I was in trouble for fraud, theft by deception and some other charge. They said a company called American Cash was filing a law suit against me for money they deposited into my account and that I had not paid and that on Monday, the authorities would be picking me up and processing me for these charges. I don't know of a company by this name and I asked who did American Cash represent and they could not tell me. Next I asked what was the name of his company and found out it was State Law Group out of PA. I asked for their business ID number and he said have my attorney call him to discuss the matter. So I asked when did this company deposit the money. He said it was before August 2011 because that's when he had received the case. So I know I've not done any cash advances prior to August with the account number he was giving me. At any rate I told him I would talk with an attorney because I had no knowledge of such a transaction. Then I decided to look them up on line.
I received the call from the above number and they left a message that I better call or have my attorney call because I will feel sorry if I don't and will have to suffer the consequences. I returned the call and when they answered I called him a SOB and told him to never call my number again or I would report him to the FBI which do handle scams.
The same man called me...I went straight to the police..the police did a criminal check on me and found nothing... Then the police called them...and they quickly hung up...this is a scam..just don't pick up the call as the police have informed me...
