The state Attorney General's office will not do anything unless you file in Pennsylvania.  This scammer calls me at work and on my phone several times a day claiming to be Robert Reed.  Strange, didn't know Reed was Indian.  Has a very poor accent and now has resorted to threatening physical harm if I do not give him my checking account number.  I have him blocked on my phone, but at work it's a little more difficult.  I work for a government law enforcement agency, and this twarp still doesn't get the hint to STOP CALLING.  The guy refuses to tell me his correct address or any relevant information that could be useful to a police report.  I am going to try to file my complaint with the Pennsylvania Attorney General's office and possibly the US Attorney General's office as I do not know how many federal and state laws have been broken.  The guy also states he is with the government, the Counterfeit Fraud Division.  All false claims.  He is nothing but a scam.  BEWARE - DO NOT GIVE ANY REAL PERSONAL INFORMATION FOR YOUR SAFETY.

This is a criminal extortion scam operating out of India. They are making the calls utilizing VOIP and the names of legitimate firms to make it appear the calls are originating from within the US. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting and/or buying consumers' personal identifying information from unscrupulous websites like the one you may have filled out an application with, and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.

ABC News released an investigative report on this scam in June. The FTC has indicted one of its ringleaders for criminal fraud:

Called 14 times demanding to talk to "Tom", advised we do have a Tom and let him leave a message for Tom.  Then called back yelling and screaming telling us to make Tom call him back right now.  He then called our receptionist a [***], called us liars, told us we were under investigation...definitely sounds foreign. We called the phone number back and a lady answered of like foreign accent (middle east/india?) They continued to leave 12 hang-up voicemails.

They have called 35 times today minute after minute, no messages,  very rude obnoxious people,  poor to moderate english,  working on a commission basis,  they will tell you lie after lie to get money from you.

Best is to make a complaint with FTC and the DO NOT CALL LISTS
