I got a call from this number twice today claiming I owed for a cash advance obtained by fraud and check fraud. I have gotton these calls before. It is totally spam. Caller was a male with a very heavy Indian accent claiming to be Melvin Dixon with CFI - Check Fraud Investigation. These idiots use disposable cell phones and I have gotten calls from PA before, but a different number. This number ID'd on my cell phone while (210) 301-0307 ID'd on my work phone. (484) 373-2513 was the number they left for a call back. I told them they had no legal leg to stand on and that the call was a scam and I would be reporting them to the FBI and Dept of Immigration if they harrassed me again.
received this call about my daughter about 2 years ago and then again today. Daniel Hill threatened me that I would be charged with fraud also since my number was listed as a reference. I refreshed my memory with these posts and returned his call. He would not tell me his name. Heavy India accent....very rude. 484 373 2513
I have had multiple calls from an Indian accented man who claims to be multiple names with the last name Franklin. He is trying to reach a previous employee. Refuses to get off the phone and calls back multiple times. Demands to speak with the person or be given her phone number. When I asked for the number in return and called him back demanding to speak to his manager, he hung up the phone. He knew too much personal information on the caller for this to be a normal collection call.
This is a criminal extortion scam operating out of India. They are making the calls utilizing VOIP and the names of legitimate firms to make it appear the calls are originating from within the US. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting and/or buying consumers' personal identifying information from unscrupulous websites like the one you may have filled out an application with, and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities, if you ever answer the call they will continue to call back! I had to get an actual officer to talk to them
