This number called me asking for "John" - this is the 5th time I've gotten a call asking for John even though I've had this number for 15 years. I said "I asked to be taken off of this list" and they just hung up. I'm thinking it's some kind of a scam that pretends to be a charity so they can get your credit card.
Just received a call from this same number. They asked for me by name and acted like they could hear my response. Eventually they hung up. I tried to call it back from a different number and the line is busy.
This is 100% scammers checking for active phones to try to call you more times later to try to scam you. Just ignore and report to your phone company's fraud division.
