Another scam telemarketing call: supposed alarm company call but NOT YOUR ALARM COMPANY AND THEY DID NOT BUY YOUR ALARM COMPANY although they will tell you they did. It's a scam to get you to change your central alarm to their service.
Got a call this afternoon - let it go to VM, no message left - when tried to call back it hangs up 5 sec. into ringing. I have no idea who it is or what its about. All it says on my caller ID is Media, PA
I got an automated call at 8:30 on Saturday morning. The recording said [as best I can remember] "This is an important call from your alarm company. We have received reports of unauthorized persons going door to door selling alarms services and representing themselves as us. If they come to your door please call us immediately at (866) 484-4800. This is the same number that's on your invoice. Again that's (866) 484-4800."
That's not my alarm company's phone number. According to Google it belongs to Cape Alarms, Starr Alarm and others. It appears to actually be Alarm Capital Alliance. They buy up Alarm companies, then apparently milk the contracts hard. And there are lots of complaints about all of them.
