So I haven't received a call from this number, but my ex-husband has for about 3 weeks now and all they will say is they need to speak to me and they asked him for my contact info. He asked who it was and they refused to give him any info except they were calling about "personal business" and they just wanted to get my and he refused.
From reading the post it sounds more like they have been calling the husband for 3 weeks now. If he refused to give them any information, wouldn't that be a violation to keep calling?
If the caller was one of the stooges working for the Enhanced Recovery Co. (formerly the Enhanced Recovery Corp... for good reason.) the violations of the FDCPA will escalate. That crew of ever descending bottom-feeders have been on my "hit-list" for years. A more disreputable form of life has never before infected Duval Co. Florida & probably never will again.
We don't know when in that three weeks the conversation happened, or if ex-hubby made a no-call request, or really anything which lights up my "violation" scoreboard. I would agree that the skip tracer gets one shot to question a person and has to move on from an obvious dead end. However, the agents get "free replays" if they think a person can correct "erroneous or incomplete" answers. I've grumbled for years that this provision only invites abuse.
