Tried to rent me a house in Abilene, TX on Craigslist. The property has been rented out before and he used the owner of the house's name, so it seemed like everything was checking out. However, his English was poor and he said he was leaving the country for a few years with his wife for a program called "Serving in Mission" (program exists, but still a red flag). He gave this phone number to contact him, which looks like one that's been associated with a number a scams in the past.
This is a phone number given for a rental house in Greenville SC (and prob even more rental scams) the email giving the number is from a Susan Toth, pretty sure not their real name, but the house they listed on Craigslist is for sale by a company NOT a rental by above person nor anyone at that number......i'm sure there are more than just that one.
I quoted about a house for rent on Craigslist. No phone number listed, only an email. Received a response today. Email was very sketchy. Listed this number to call and email said the name was 'Howard Elizabeth W Etal' for a house being rented in Joplin, MO!
This number is also associated with a listing on Craigslist for a house in Hays, KS -- currently for sale by a realty company here in town! My husband emailed the person who listed it ("Tyler Turner") and "Tyler" gave this phone number.
