Got a call from this number this afternoon. I don't answer unknown phone numbers, so I have no idea what this number wanted or who it was ... From reading all the previous posts, I guess I am glad that I didnt' answer it....
I use an application called Privacy Star with which I can blanket block unknown or "blocked" numbers and in case of telemarketers and even wrong numbers who refuse to get the point that susie or joey or whomever does not have this number anymore. I can also file a complaint via Privacy Start. Costs me $2.99 per month and is well worth it. Some companies have loads of outside lines so you may block dozens of numbers from the same company. If you have a smart phone (I use a Blackberry) you should be able to find an app. The donotcall.gov list does not always work and many telemarketers just disregard it because unless YOU follow up with a bunch of complaints they do not get dinged. So the registry in effect has no teeth.
