As most of the people receiving unwanted calls from your spoofed number will likely call you back before looking up the number (if they look it up at all) you should try Slim's suggestions. At the very least, record a message informing callers your number has been spoofed and you aren't calling them.
Got call from 504-427-9674. Hung up without leaving message. I know noone in Louisiana. Suspect its not a "good call", much more likely its a "bad hombre".
This is my phone number!!!! And it's been highjacked by some a$$ hole in Atlanta who is using it to terrorize people in West Virginia, Ohio, and counting. Please report it. After 3 hours on the phone w/ tech support, AT&T REFUSES to disable my connection to this number. Don't answer it. And please, please, please don't call back or message back. The jerk using my phone to annoy you doesn't get your messages. Those come to me. Oh, and please report the annoyance to the FCC.
Calm down.
Your phone LINE has not been hijacked.
The scammers may be faking your NUMBER (that is not a difficult thing to do).
Therefore, AT&T can do nothing, since the call originates at a different number, but the CallerID is faked.
Several things you can do.
1. Read the rest of this post
2. Consider getting a phone blocker, and whitelist known incoming callers' numbers. Then, you would not hear the return calls from the folks who thought you were calling.
3. Consider putting an appropriate message on your answering machine or VM.

Calm down? Lol! Why don't I just forward all these irate folks to your phone? And don't worry, ATT already told me there is nothing they WOULD do. Even though their parental controls reveal the perp's number. That would actually be remarkably easy to investigate and resolve. If they were inclined to do so.
