I've been getting calls from this number from a woman with an Indian accent, asking to speak with "the owner of the business." On subsequent calls she's also occasionally asks for me by name "May I speak with Steven G----." She purports to be offering some cash business financing. She's mentioned the name of the company but I can't remember. It's a name that suggests they provide capital in the form of loans to businesses.
I always have her hold on ("Let me see if he's available, can you please hold? He's on the other line but I think he's about to get off."), put my phone on mute, and let it sit there until she hangs up a couple minutes later. I've done it to her five of six times, and she keeps calling back like a clingy ex-girlfriend. She'll eventually get the hint.
Word of advice: Never hang up on telemarketers. When you cut it short and hang up, you are doing them a favor. Instead, take up as much of their time as you can without taking up too much of yours. Telemarketers rely on non-interested people hanging up on them or cutting it short so they can move on to the next call. Their conversion rate is way too low to spend any more than 20 seconds with people who are not going to convert. So if everyone would just keep on the line for at least a minute or two, the bottom would fall out of their business model.
IT'S A USURY FEE SCAM COUPLED WITH A HOME INVASION ROBBERY CHECK.
In effect they want to see when you are there and when you are not. They then send your schedule to their connections where you are, probably for a price. So they can rob your house. Also your personal information is sellable to the Hindu Tech Support Scammers. It is all one big scam. The reason you can tell its a scam, is because of their "sales" and "qualification" technique as seen below.
They don't have a do not call list, because they are a scam.
Report them to your local attorney general's office.
Do you make atleast "10,000$" per month. Do you want a cash advance loan on your business?
IF I WAS MAKING 10,000$ MONTH WHY WOULD I NEED YOU? I WOULDN'T, NO ONE WOULD, EVER. INFACT, NO ONE DOES.
This is still going. They have a furious demon-dialer. Getting 3-6 per day. Recorded message says something like "Congrats! You've been pre-approved...! Press 2 to not receive further calls - Press 1 to speak with operator." #2 does not stop it. #1 goes to secondary message of "Your call is important...". Sometimes you'll eventually get a human; usually ESL. Most times just disconnects after 10-20 seconds. Getting 'their info' is useless. My guess is that it's an off-shore scam w/ a spoofed number. DO NOT give them any info, but do mess with them if you have the time !
The other possibility is they are an agency that sells valid phone numbers. So they call people and if there is an answer or an answering machine they verify the number and it goes on a list they sell to scammers and cold callers.
I started a Youtube channel where I fought back against harassing calls by companies offering fake loans or real loans with usurious interest rates or something, Here is a link to one of the calls https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TfikOAYMN9Q
After I posted a few of these the calls appear to have sowed down and maybe even stopped. But fight back we must.
Used my company Huey louie and Dewey Law Firm who specialize in sueing company who try to scam people.. asked him if he was interested and he hung up.. I guess not.
