Some man called my mother saying he is urgently looking for me, that he has a summons for me for check fraud? Umm I don't even have a checking account so not sure what this is about and lives 2000 miles away from me seems a bit fishy. Looked up phone number and its a land line not a business. Afraid to call back not sure what to do??
I received the same call today from a Vernon Wells on my job. Left a message and said I needed to call him back immediately. Didn't say what it was in regards to.
I've had these type of calls before and asked them to mail me the documents but never received them. They ask for credit card information attempting to collect a debt but cannot say for which company. I am one who would like to correct any debt I may owe but if I don't receive information in the mail validating what I owe and the company...what should I do?
I received the same call and a threat to be served court papers by the sheriff department at my home or job. He wanted me to set up a payment with a visa prepaid card or debit card. He got very aggressive and loud when I told him I needed an address to mail the money and told him he appeared not to want to leave a paper trail to himself. When he threatened about court, I told him that I would be waiting for the papers, so that I could deal with someone face to face he got very rude. I told him good day and hung up. I knew something didn't sound right, because he did not want to provide an address to mail the payment. I know that I had a debt with the company, but I don't handle business like that. I Would learn to find out who this Vernon is....a shame.
Total Scam demand,
Hang up on him, Hel'll threaten your call family and everybody else listed on your credit report and so forth.
Simply Say F**k You and hang up then block the pricks calls.
