Received same call. Stating they where the makers of my alarm system. Figured it was a scam as we do not have an alarm. Stupidly stated that and hung up! Happy we have no out of town plans over Christmas and the New Year!
For anyone that called the police what was their response?
508-226-8965 is an old number of ours that was apparently "spoofed" once we gave it up for a new number 3 months ago. We have been working with Verizon and Xfinity to have our information removed from this number with no success as of yet. We apologize for the calls as this has been extremely frustrating for us as well spending hours on the phone with the phone company with no answers. If anyone has dealt with this and has a solution, please advise. This is a scam happening all around the country.
Just happened to me. I called the police and provided the information. Hope this isn't an attempt to find out who has and doesn't have an alarm system.
9am call here...they said they were calling about our alarm. As my husband works for the company that installed ours, I know damn well this call was a fake. I blasted them and told them to stop calling me.
