GA - PA Phone number
Received the same call as Pennsylvania above (or below as the post may be). They said my brother was in an accident with his brother's BMW, and his brother hit him over the head with a gun and now has him tied up in their house. He asked for my brother's name, I gave him a fake one to test him; he confirmed that fake name was my brother. Horrible, Horrible scam. these people are sick.

I received the same call (from 508-241-3028) today (12/5/13 9:59 AM EST) from a man claiming to be Robert Rodriguez with a Massachusetts. First the call said it was my brother, when I said I was an only child, he said it was my father. He said my brother/father was just in a car accident outside his house and wanted to contact me. I asked for my father's name and all he would give me was "my name is Robert." When I refused to give any further information, he told me that it would be my fault if my dad dies and hung up on me. I called the number back (12/5/13 10:31 AM EST) about 15 minutes later curious to see if the number would still work. Now Robert has a new last name, Lopez, and it's back to my bother again. I asked if he called 911. He said that my brother wanted him to call me first. I informed him that he has the wrong number and hung up the phone.

Crime Alert
Threatening Telephone Phone Calls/Scams

The Radnor Police Department is issuing a crime alert in reference to recent phone scams that are trending in the region.

On December 4, 2013 Radnor Police Department responded to a local business where the merchant received a threatening phone call. The male caller advised the victim that her brother was in a car accident striking his BMW. The male caller then demanded $2000 from the victim to pay for damages sustained in the alleged crash. The male caller further threatened that he was going to shoot the victims brother in the head if the money was not wired immediately. Radnor Police made contact with the brother of the victim and confirmed that he was not involved in any motor vehicle crash. Further investigation of the cell phone number that was used to place this call determined it to be associated with an ongoing phone scam in the Philadelphia region. The cell phone number associated with this is 508-241-3028. The callers generally demand money to be wired outside of the United States to an off shore bank account.
Radnor Police has issued this alert and advising any person that receives a similar call to contact 9-1-1 immediately to initiate a police department response. Attempt to capture the originating phone number of the caller. Radnor Police also advise that money should NEVER be wired to any unknown persons or locations. If you have received any similar phone calls you are asked to contact Radnor Police and file a report.

Well, this guy must be very sure of his anonymity, or more likely, dumb as a door nail. He just did the same thing to me,, word by word, first my dad (shucks, he passed away 10 years ago), then switched to my brother (oops, I have no brother) and when I questioned him, then he threatened to hunt me down and kill me.
Well, I have reported him to the police in Radnor and since I am 2000 miles away, to the Feds. Let's see how they do.
The idiot woke me up from my nap, so I am really ticked off. Let the dogs bite his [***], the big dogs.
A threat to my life? That is serious business. Waking me up from my nap, that is a capital crime and unforgivable
