I got the same call this morning. A guy with an accent and MA # said he was named Robert Rodriguez, saying my brother (which I don't have) was in a bad accident. When I sounded confused he quickly said it was my father who was in an accident, but he needed me to tell him my father's name to confirm MY identity. Super disturbing.
Same thing happened to me, and I was hysterical.. Ended up finding a cop along the road and jumped out of the car to ask his help. It was a guy with a Mexican accent, called from the same number, said his name was Robert and my brother was in a bad accident but being held hostage unless I got $1500 to him. So messed up, I hope he can be caught.
The same story here, I called the police, they said "scam, ignore it" I almost had a heart attack! Why don't they stop this sick person before something worse happens. The call was from Chatham, MA and it shouldn't be a problem to locate the caller and arrest him for treating. My wife almost gave him the money, Who wouldn't, " If you were told your son is bleeding and they will shoot him", if you don't give them the money immediately they asked for?
