I got a call at 12:30 AM - callerID said "Blocked" - Robo call saying my Mastercard from a real local credit union had been closed due to tampering. We have no such account but I found it odd that this is a local bank only - how would they know about it? Anyhow, I hung up. At 3AM I got another call from this 508-475-1920 number and again was a robo call about another card with Bank of America that I don't have. The recorded voices sound very "real" and American etc. However, I have no such cards so I hung up before I could find out what the rest of the message was.
Yes!!! Recived 4 or 5 calls this morning from a middle eastern man telling us we had received funds in our bank account from a payday loan application. We did apply but never followed thru or receive any funds. Tried to explain we would fax our bank statements showing where no monies were recieved by us. He did not even know what day or amount these supposed "funds" were given to us. He was extremly rude and even told my husband to shut up.
Calls from this number are a SCAM. Currently in my area, the fraudsters placing these phishing calls are claiming to be from area banks, and are saying that the customer’s card is in danger of being closed or has been closed already. The customer is then instructed to enter their card number and PIN. 100%, ABSOLUTE, SCAM!
