called on my landline. ID says MASSACHUSETTS . Hung up when I answered. White Pages reverse lookup says Verizon Communications Landline in Provincetown, MA.

Got this miserable call on my cell phone this morning. I have recently made two calls to Verizon wireless services for assistance. Could it be they sold my number to these scam bags? Same message as others here have received - Heather calling for account services to lower my credit card rates - blah, blah, blah. I will now block their number.
