Received a call from this number. I answered just yelling jibberish into the phone. After a few seconds someone answered on the other end.
Claimed to work for Comcast and said that they noticed I have a slow internet connection. Ironically, I do believe that I did as I've been messing around with internet speeds lately. However, it's too much of a coincidence. The individual on the phone did ask for me by my actual name on the Comcast account, which is actually a bit scary because they have your information (or some of it).
At that point I had no interest in playing the account number, social security, birthday game.
The number is a 508 area code. Many of these calls seem to be going out in the Massachusetts area. However, the number is fake which is meant to be believable for those familiar with it.
Unless anyone else can provide an explanation to this, I'm clarifying this as a scam call. I usually don't do anything about these calls but this one was a bit strange to me.
Same as all of the above- called to say I had a slow connection speed- (ironic because I did have a tech here 4 days ago from Exfinity checking a bleed from the lines--) I wonder if they have someone following trucks?? How do they know Comcast versus say Verizon customers? Anywho- I figured it was bogus and hung up--he kept asking for my account number which I would assume he would know if he was calling me from Comcast.
