I am constantly getting phone calls from this number threating me saying i will be arrested to watch my back and i owe them $600. and there is a lawsuit against my name and social security number.  They said if i don't give them my SSN there will be problems and I need to give them attorney information or else.  I told them to give a file # and go ahead and file the complaint because if there is a lawsuit there will be a file # and i will file a complaint against them for harrasement, the man laughed and said to go ahead and try, then hung up.  These ppl do not speak english and are very rude.  Help!!!!!!

These guys are fakes, you can not get arrested for debt. Report them to the FTC and your local state attorney general's office. What ever you do never give them your personal info or bank information. Also ask them for a validation of debt, most of the times they will deny that they do have to do this but by law if they are real debt collectors they must do so.

It is also helpfull to file a report on the FBI website.  These people are using a USA number, but the calls are actually coming from oversea's.  That, and they are trying to represent themselves as a representative for federal entity sending federal agents to your work (ha ha ha).  I would file with FBI and FTC and tell the person on the phone you are doing so and that you know they are commiting a federal crime and fraud and hang up.

This person called my work today. Said her name was Sammy June. Claimed she was from the "Legal Investigation Dept" Didn't say a Co. name. Said this was a matter of emergency. Asked for me and/or my atty to call back ASAP. Said if I didn't call back right away, her words were"there is nothing I can do & good luck & god bless"

She's right! There IS nothing she can do!
When/If you take her next call tell her she has five business days to provide you with a full, complete and legitimate letter of validation; as outlined and required by federal law under the FDCPA. To be delivered by mail, not by e-mail or fax. Then demand her name, the name of her company and their valid address & phone number. Remind her she is obliged under federal law to provide you with that info. as well.
This will, no doubt, take the wind out of her sail. Hopefully the calls will stop.
Google FDCPA and visit the FTCs website. Know your rights.
Be Safe. Be aware.
