Calls our business and wants to confirm the name of the office manager. I asked for what and they said it's for an annual subscription we have with them for an occupational health and safety publication. I said ok what's your website to see the publications. The guy couldn't explain anything after that and asked if i could transfer them to the manager. I said no and he said he would call some other time.
All this sounds like UBM or Cahners, publishers of trade journals. If you are in the electronics industry, then these make sense, for "trade perks". Otherwise, they have your number in error.
The interview is lengthy to qualify, but if I don't use that item, i tell them "I don't do that anymore". That is a simple way to turn them off, but they will call again later in the year for something else. Non-trade people should tell them exactly that.
